The premiere of the Aiways U6 SUV-Coupé in Lisbon was also attended by entrepreneur, TV presenter and influencer Cathy Hummels, as well as German actor Jan Hartmann and Portuguese big wave surfer Joana Andrade. All three were enthusiastic about the new electric car and emphasized the importance of sustainable mobility.
Cathy Hummels attaches great importance to sustainability. For the well-known German entrepreneur, TV presenter, model and influencer, this not only means a conscious approach to the environment, but also a genuine affinity for technology. For example, Cathy’s new home in Munich is covered with a photovoltaic system which produces her electricity in a CO2-neutral manner. Furthermore, Cathy has configured the system in such a way in which she can charge an electric car with the surplus electricity.
Intelligent mobility as the key to greater sustainability
“I am convinced that in the future we will have to focus more on intelligent and demand-oriented mobility if we really want to become sustainable,” says Cathy Hummels. “For me, this includes public transportation in the city center, for example. I only use the car for longer distances – and I like doing that as I really enjoy traveling by car.”
The model attaches great importance to the highest levels of comfort on the road and not just because of the high mileage she often achieves as a part of her career. Relaxed travel is of paramount importance to Hummels in her role as a mother. “I appreciate the peace and quiet when driving, and here the Aiways U6 SUV-Coupé naturally scores well as an electric car. I’m also thrilled about the amount of space, as I usually travel with a lot of luggage.”
With its dynamic design and exceptional aerodynamics with low air resistance, the Aiways U6 SUV-Coupé offers the airstream very little surface to attack and correspondingly little disruptive noise. The clever packaging of the drive unit, power electronics and sandwich battery pack also allows for a level of space that sets a benchmark in the class.
Superior comfort makes the Aiways U6 SUV-Coupé a haven of tranquility
As a family man, German actor Jan Hartmann also emphasized the generous space offered by the Aiways U6 SUV-Coupé. “As a father, it is important to me that my family is comfortable and safe on the road. The U6 SUV-Coupé offers just that and also impresses with its really successful styling,” said Hartmann.
But the TV star goes one step further and sees electromobility as a whole with a sustainable energy transition. “I see the electric car as an important key technology. It can be used not only to achieve CO2 -neutral mobility, but also to buffer renewable energies by means of smart power grids, which are then fed back when needed.”
During the test drive, the actor from Regensburg was also impressed by the technology in the Aiways U6 SUV-Coupé. From the fast AI-PT electric drive with 160 kW (218 hp) to the AI-Tech OS infotainment system with its 14.6″ touchscreen, the actor put all the functions through their paces.
Portuguese surf star Joana Andrade does not see sustainability as a trend
Portuguese professional surfer Joana Andrade also had positive things to say about the Aiways U6 SUV-Coupé. All of the equipment Joana needs as the only Portuguese female big wave surfer of the waves of Nazaré has space in the U6, but also all of the regular equipment required as the head of her surf school. The luggage capacity of the dynamic electric SUV makes it a great match for Joana, as does the idea of sustainable living.
As an athlete who is closely connected to nature, Joana sees electromobility as forward-looking. “For me, sustainability is not just a trend, but a way of life. Electromobility is an important step in the right direction,” emphasizes Andrade. “I’m happy that I can contribute to Aiways as a brand ambassador for many connections in the future and that together we can make people think and change their mindset.”
The “Electric State of Mind” is an expression of inner calm on the way to change
The premiere of the Aiways U6 SUV-Coupé in Lisbon was held under the motto “Electric State of Mind” and was a resounding success. With its dynamic design, an impressive range of 405 kilometers according to WLTP and a spacious interior, the electric car impresses on all fronts. At the same time, with its rich equipment, wide range of driver assistance systems and superior ride comfort, the U6 provides calm and balance that only a vehicle with an electric drive can achieve – on every journey. Series production of the Aiways U6 SUV-Coupé is underway in Shangrao, and the first deliveries in Europe are scheduled for late summer.
